“Gain an understanding of how the Codes give direction to the profession”
Course Content
These codes are currently being reviewed and updated. Calls for consultation and surveys have sought feedback from the profession.
You may have been invited to undertake this. It is timely therefore to consider these in light of failures by individuals and contemplate how these standards not only give direction to the profession but set the standards to judge individuals accused of failures.
Examples drawn from case law and tribunals will be considered in relation to expected behaviours in order to clarify and demonstrate how these codes give direction in all aspects of practice.
Learning Outcomes
In this session you will:
- Gain an understanding of how the Codes give direction to the profession
- Investigate how the codes set the standards of nursing service delivery
- Explore the expected behaviours of the profession
- Clarify concepts from examples of case law and tribunals
