Course Content

Elder abuse can be defined as “a single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person”

In this session, we will discuss Elder Abuse, Identify the types of abuse that can take place, and explore the mandatory reporting requirements that exist in the Aged Care Sector.

  • Become familiar with the related guidelines
  • Explore your role in identifying Elder Abuse 
  • Describe your responsibility should you witness/suspect that Elder Abuse has occurred
