“Supporting the birthing mother”
Caring for the birthing mother requires considerations for the mother and child to ensure a safe arrival of baby. Occasionally, nurses in smaller hospitals may find themselves in a situation where they are the only qualified healthcare professional available to assist the mother through this process.
In this webinar, we will explore the basics of helping a birthing mother in an emergency and how to promote a safe arrival of her baby.
After the webinar, you will also be able to download some added resources to add to your learning.
In this session you will:
- Gain an understanding of the complexities of birthing
- Acquire knowledge of the basics for supporting the birthing mother
- Recognise the importance of ensuring all staff of isolated rural and remote settings receive proper training on emergency birthing
- Explore the needs of the mother and newborn baby immediately after birth
