Course Content

‘Latex allergy affects about 1% of the general population, however, amongst healthcare workers, the prevalence is approximately 15%. Latex allergy is the second leading cause of perioperative anaphylaxis after muscle relaxants.

Hypersensitivity reactions associated with latex range from localized to potentially fatal anaphylactic reactions.’ This session explores the common triggers for latex allergies and recommendations to employ in the healthcare setting.

  • Receive information regarding strategies in the workplace to reduce exposure
