Course Content
The webinar will describe the process of conducting a mental state examination (MSE). Whist the MSE is used predominately in the mental health setting, the presenter will discuss how used correctly the MSE can also assist assessments in many settings including aged care.

- Describe the MSE – purpose and how to use
- Understand the importance of using the individual’s own words when documenting an MSE
- Identify barriers to correct use of the MSE
- Discuss how the MSE can be an informative historical documentation of an individual’s journey from admission to discharge and through maintenance
