Course Content
This webinar provides an overview of the co-occurrence of known risk factors contributing to metabolic syndrome. It will discuss the risk of developing pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease and the benefit of early interventions, both lifestyle and pharmacological, to reduce the risk-averse health outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
In this session, you will:
- Gain an understanding of the co-occurrence of known risk factors contributing to metabolic syndrome
- Discuss the importance of early interventions to reduce the risk of chronic conditions including cardiovascular disease, Type 2 Diabetes and chronic kidney disease
- Gain an understanding of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for metabolic syndrome
- Discuss necessity for long term monitoring and re-evaluation treatment
