Laws that legalise voluntary assisted dying (VAD) have now been passed in every single State in Australia.
In this webinar Maria Clemente, Solicitor at DWF and a registered nurse, will review the current landscape around VAD and will cover the following:

- Understanding the eligibility criteria in VAD legislation

- Conscientious objection
- Review of implementation in Victoria

Maria Clemente is a registered nurse and solicitor. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) at Brock University in Canada. She worked in rural Ontario in the areas of Emergency and Aged Care. In 2019 she relocated to Australia and studied at Bond University, obtaining a Juris Doctor with first-class distinction. Since then, she has been admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
She currently works full-time as a solicitor at DWF in the area of insurance and casually as a registered nurse in emergency and immigration detention.
