Presenter Kristianne Jarman, Credentialled Diabetes Educator - Registered Nurse - Diabetes Queensland

Kristianne is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator working with Diabetes Queensland in the role of health professional upskilling and education. 

Kristianne has been living with type one diabetes since 1988 and therefore has a strong passion for supporting people to live well with diabetes.  She has been working as a nurse in general practice for over ten years and continues to engage in private practice part-time, in her local area. 

When Kristianne is not at work, she loves the great outdoors. You may see her camping, bushwalking, at the beach or just relaxing at home with her much loved ragdoll cat Byron. 

Course Content

Pregnancy planning in type one and type two diabetes is vital to reduce risks of complications relating to hyperglycaemia.  This session also includes a brief overview of Gestational Diabetes  – risk factors, screening, and management.
