This session explores the aetiology and medical conditions often found in those with Down Syndrome.

Course Content

According to Down Syndrome Australiathere are over 13000 people with Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome is one of the leading causes of intellectual disability. These patients face various health issues including learning and memory, congenital heart diseases, Alzheimer’s diseases, leukaemia, cancers and Hirschprung disease. This session reviews the aetiology, diagnosis, and specific care management considerations.
