Understanding the difference between the two styles of precautions and when to use them is of upmost importance for the practicing nurse.

The new Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare provide the road map for best practice in Infection Control and in this learning activity, you will be reviewing Section Three of the Guidelines: Standard and Transmission-based precautions.
